Don\u2019t they know what\u2019s waiting for them?\u201d Spoiler alert: they <em>always<\/em> open the door. And you know what? We\u2019re not so different. Life throws us plenty of \u201cdoors\u201d to open\u2014new jobs, big moves, tough conversations, or even starting that side hustle you\u2019ve been dreaming about. But instead of charging in like the brave (or reckless) actor in the movie, we often freeze. Why? Because fear is a master of disguise. It shows up as self-doubt, procrastination, or even the classic \u201cI\u2019ll do it tomorrow.\u201d But wait: your goals are on the other side of that door. And you have to open it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-rank-math-toc-block\" id=\"rank-math-toc\"><h2>Table of Contents<\/h2><nav><ul><li><a href=\"#is-it-fear-of-failing\">Is it fear of failing?\u00a0<\/a><\/li><li><a href=\"#the-cozy-comfort-zone\">The Cozy \u201cComfort Zone\u201d<\/a><\/li><li><a href=\"#what-if\">What If?<\/a><\/li><li><a href=\"#a-liberating-yet\">A Liberating \u201cYet\u201d<\/a><\/li><li><a href=\"#just-do-it\">Just Do It!\u00a0<\/a><\/li><\/ul><\/nav><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading has-medium-font-size\" id=\"is-it-fear-of-failing\"><strong>Is it fear of failing?&nbsp;<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-dark-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-23b2db0d07014e938c98c953b0c1d3b3\">Let\u2019s get real for a second. Fear of failure is basically the Madonna of fears\u2014it\u2019s everywhere, it\u2019s powerful, and it\u2019s hard to ignore (Just like in her <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=79fzeNUqQbQ\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\"><mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)\" class=\"has-inline-color has-text-link-color\">1989 video<\/mark><\/a> when she changed Pop Culture worldwide forever by singing \u201cLife is a mystery\u2026 everyone must stand alone\u201d in such a powerful statement). But here\u2019s the twist: failure isn\u2019t the monster under the bed. It\u2019s more like a really annoying teacher who gives you pop quizzes when you least expect it. Sure, it\u2019s uncomfortable, but it\u2019s also where the magic happens. Every mistake, every setback, every \u201cI can\u2019t believe I just did that\u201d moment is a lesson learnt. So, what\u2019s the worst that could happen? You fail? Cool. Now you know what not to do next time. After all, you\u2019re still alive. Your dog still loves you. And pizza still exists. Perspective, people!.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading has-medium-font-size\" id=\"the-cozy-comfort-zone\"><strong>The Cozy \u201cComfort Zone\u201d<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-dark-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-e6c76fa46ca530a4f361f76982fafce7\">Ah, the comfort zone &#8211; which I often refer to as <em>the fear zone &#8211;<\/em>. It\u2019s like a warm blanket on a rainy day\u2014safe, cozy, and oh-so-tempting. Problem is\u2026 nothing grows there. You are six feet under. And your dreams? They\u2019re outside, doing push-ups and waiting for you to catch up. Stepping out of your fear zone doesn\u2019t mean you have to quit your job, move to a different country, or start skydiving (unless you want to). It can be as simple as speaking up in a meeting, pitching an idea, or finally hitting \u201csend\u201d on that email you\u2019ve been overthinking. Small steps, big impact. You need to know what it is you really want and what you deeply wish for.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading has-medium-font-size\" id=\"what-if\"><strong>What If?<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-dark-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-9c67e9e2c1d6da63111661e60dd6f245\">Fear loves to play the \u201cwhat if\u201d game. What if I\u2019m not good enough? What if people laugh at me? What if I mess up and everyone thinks I\u2019m a fraud? Sound familiar? Here\u2019s how to beat it: play the game back. Switch it. What if you succeed? What if this is the best decision you\u2019ve ever made? What if you inspire someone else to take the leap because they saw you do it? Fear thrives on uncertainty, but so does opportunity. The difference is, opportunity doesn\u2019t paralyze you\u2014it propels you. So, next time fear starts whispering \u201cwhat if,\u201d hit it with your own version. Coaching principles teach us to ask WHAT FOR instead of WHY. You can leave the self-doubting feelings aside for one second and ask yourself \u201cwhat do I want this for?\u201d. That helps see the light at the end of the tunnel. Trust me, I know it from my own experience.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading has-text-dark-color has-text-color has-link-color has-medium-font-size wp-elements-19fa863e24c67afb8160cdec16d68271\" id=\"a-liberating-yet\"><strong>A Liberating \u201cYet\u201d<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-dark-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-4f3289a4887a91fb45fad730a2d4f496\">Here\u2019s a little word that packs a big punch: yet. As in, \u201cI\u2019m not where I want to be\u2026 yet.\u201d Or \u201cI don\u2019t know how to do this\u2026 yet.\u201d Adding \u201cyet\u201d to your vocabulary is like giving yourself permission to grow. It\u2019s a reminder that you\u2019re a work in progress, and that\u2019s okay. Rome wasn\u2019t built in a day, and neither is your dream career, relationship, or life. So, cut yourself some slack. You\u2019re not failing\u2014you\u2019re learning. And that\u2019s a win in my book. I hope I never run out of goals I haven\u2019t achieved YET that I\u2019m working towards doing so.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading has-medium-font-size\" id=\"just-do-it\"><strong>Just Do It!&nbsp;<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-dark-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-fa3445943094dca93773cac6b0365315\">At the end of the day, fear isn\u2019t the enemy. It\u2019s just a sign that you\u2019re about to do something important. Something that matters. Something that scares you because it has the power to change your life. So, feel the fear. Acknowledge it. Thank it for trying to protect you. And then\u2026 do it anyway. Open the door. Take the leap. Send the email. Because getting those results you wished for? They\u2019re worth the scary bits. And so are you.
